Laura Porto is the Chief Renewables Officer at Neoenergia since August 2017 and was elected as a Full Member of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Neoenergia Renováveis in 2020. She graduated in Electrical Engineering from the Universidade Federal do Estado da Bahia, with specializations in Grid Connected Wind Energy Converters from Germany and Energy Planning from Escola Politécnica da UFBA, along with a Financial Management course from Fundação Getúlio Vargas. Her extensive career in the energy sector includes roles as Country Manager at Iberdrola Renováveis do Brasil, COO of Força Eólica do Brasil, and positions at the Ministry of Mines and Energy where she coordinated major programs like PROINFA and “Luz para Todos.” Additionally, Laura has been a board member at ABEEólica since 2010 and is a noted speaker on renewable energy, contributing significantly to discussions on energy transformation and sustainability.
