I think these three days were very important for generating these connections, but the best part is yet to come: the post-event, which is the relationships we’ve created here, the meetings we’ve already scheduled, prioritizing our main objective, which is to achieve the energy transition of our country and the world.

The Energy Summit was super important for connecting the five ends of MIT REAP: government, big business, universities, startups and investors. In addition, we expanded the connections beyond the energy sector. We had companies here from the financial, mining, materials, IT, chemical, mobility, transportation and aviation sectors, the whole range of segments that will affect and be affected by the energy transition.

Our expectations of the results of the Energy Summit are enormous, as it creates an environment for members of government, academia, large companies, startups and investors to create connections, collaborate and generate business. What we hope is that wealth will be distributed from here.

The support of the Rio state government and also Petrobras was fundamental in making this all happen. And, of course, MIT, as the central figure in the distribution and production of the knowledge that circulates here, as the coat of arms, the heraldry of MIT says: “mens et manus”, the minds and hands that really make things happen.
