Italo Freitas, the Vice President of Renewables at Eletrobras, holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic School of Pernambuco and an MBA in Finance from the University of Murcia, Spain. He also completed a Master’s in Energy and Environment at Unicamp. Freitas has over two decades of experience in the energy sector, including roles as CEO of AES Brasil and Vice President of New Business for South America at AES. At Eletrobras, he oversees renewable energy projects, driving the company’s strategic initiatives in sustainable energy solutions and contributing to Brazil’s energy transition efforts.
