Energy Summit

The Event

Paving the way for the future of energy transition

background

About

The Energy Summit is a global event focused on innovation and entrepreneurship in the energy and sustainability sectors. Held in partnership with MIT, the event connects experts, leaders and innovators from around the world to discuss the next steps in the energy transition and sustainable solutions.

Co-organized with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

The direct collaboration with MIT, recognized as the best university in the world for 12 years in the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) ranking, provides access to cutting-edge knowledge, advanced research and a global network of experts and academics.

Energy Transition: a global opportunity

The Energy Summit is driven by 4Ds: Decarbonization, Digitization, Decentralization and Democratization. These pillars are shaping the future of the energy sector, as decarbonization becomes a global priority to reach net zero targets by 2050.

Decarbonization

Energy generation and distribution while reducing CO2 emissions

One of the main challenges faced in energy transition is carbon-footprint reduction. We can focus on energy production through renewable sources, energy efficiency, and carbon capture projects in a way that benefits the planet

energia eólica
Decentralization

Better power generation and distribution.

Thanks to a number of new technologies, energy production can go beyond the current mainstream model consisted of large power generation units. As a result, clean energy can be also generated by households, small businesses and industries that become “prosumers”.

energia eólica
Digitization

Use of digital technologies to boost efficiency.

Artificial Intelligence, data analytics, IoT and blockchain are among the examples of technologies that can support current processes, such as enabling new business models for the energy sector while improving efficiency, production and power distribution.

energia eólica
Democratization

Affordable quality energy for all.

Improving energy distribution is the first step to transform the industry. It must be available and affordable to all citizens, which means that the transition must be just, equitable and address societal and economic needs.

MIT Reap methodology: building an innovation ecosystem

The event follows the MIT REAP (Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program) methodology that highlights the importance of collaboration between five key stakeholders: government, corporate, academia, risk capital, and the entrepreneurial community.
