Eduardo Ávila is the Executive Director of Revolusolar, a non-profit organization founded in 2015, which promotes sustainable development in low-income communities through solar energy. An economist by training, Eduardo graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and has specialized in energy and finance. He transitioned from the financial market to focus on social entrepreneurship and sustainable energy.  

 Eduardo has been a volunteer at Revolusolar since 2018 and took on the role of Executive Director, leading initiatives to implement solar energy solutions in the Babilônia and Chapéu Mangueira favelas in Rio de Janeiro. His work includes developing professional training programs for residents, promoting renewable energy education, and advocating for energy efficiency and sustainability. Eduardo’s efforts have earned him recognition as one of the finalists for the United Nations Environment Program’s ‘Young Champions of the Earth’ award in 2020 and the Global Energy Heroes award by Stanford University in 2022
