Satya S. Tripathi is the Secretary-General of the Global Alliance for a Sustainable Planet. With over 40 years of diverse experience as a development economist and lawyer, he has held strategic roles at the United Nations, including Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the New York Office at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Tripathi is also the Chancellor of the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences and a Senior Distinguished Fellow at the World Agroforestry Centre. He played a pivotal role in coordinating post-tsunami recovery efforts in Aceh and Nias and established financial facilities for sustainable projects in Indonesia and India​.
