Joshua Volz is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Europe, Eurasia, Africa, and the Middle East in the Office of International Affairs at the U.S. Department of Energy, where he oversees energy policies and international relations across these regions. Before this, he directed the Office of European and Eurasian Affairs and led the Eastern Mediterranean team at the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Energy Resources. With a rich background in government, having held positions within the U.S. Department of Defense and served in various Middle Eastern countries, Mr. Volz brings extensive experience in managing international energy strategies. He holds a B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from Kalamazoo College and an M.S. in National Security Strategy and Resourcing from the National Defense University, and he lectures at the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies.
