Javier is a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, where he specializes in Environmental Science and Engineering. His work, which includes pivotal contributions to the UN Environment’s Renewable Global Status Report, focuses on clean energy solutions like biofuels and sustainable forestry products. He co-directs entrepreneurship initiatives at Harvard and is a council member of the Harvard Council of Student Sustainability Leaders. Javier founded BiomassTrust LLC, which has developed innovative chlorine-free eucalyptus wood pellets that conform to EU sustainability standards, garnering global recognition. With a Ph.D. from the University of São Paulo, where he earned top honors, Javier’s accolades include numerous awards for innovation and sustainability in energy.
