Walter Baère is the Legal Director at the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES). He holds a law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RJ) and postgraduate degrees in Public Law from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and in Tax Law from the Brazilian Institute of Tax Studies (IBET). Walter is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Law at the University of Coimbra in Portugal. He has extensive experience in federal administration, having served as a Federal Prosecutor for the General Advocacy of the Union and held senior positions at the Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management, and the Ministry of Mines and Energy. His role at BNDES involves overseeing legal strategies and compliance to support the bank’s mission of fostering sustainable economic development in Brazil.
