Marcelo Gattass is a full professor at PUC-Rio and director of the Tecgraf Institute, dedicated to the development of applied computer science. Recognized as one of the pioneers of Computer Graphics in Brazil, Gattass has made significant contributions to strengthening the relationship between PUC-Rio and key industrial sectors, such as Petrobras, especially in the energy sector. His research focuses on areas such as Visualization, Numerical Simulation, Augmented Reality, Geometric Modeling, and Computer Vision. Gattass applies his expertise across various sectors, including medicine and oil engineering, helping professionals to solve complex challenges. His academic and professional work includes coordinating research projects and developing specialized courses that integrate academic needs with industrial demands.
