SPEAKER
Lucas Nissenbaum is a Project Scientist at the Center for Projects and Innovation (Centro Pi) at the National Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA). He focuses on the prospecting and execution of projects in applied mathematics. Lucas holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University. His research spans areas such as image and video compression, telecommunications, and data analysis. He has extensive experience in both academia and industry, including roles at BlackRock and as a teaching assistant at MIT and Cornell.
